Charters Towers is renowned for its heritage and gold mining history, at the height if the 1880’s it was the second largest city in Queensland and was referred to as “The World”. The city is a living museum that preserves an amazing story 137 years old. Some of the attractions include:
- The Stock Exchange Arcade built in 1888
- Ay Ot Lookout House built in the 1890’s
- Venus Battery – Australia’s largest surviving battery relic, constructed in 1872
- Towers Hill Lookout
Departs 8.00am with an estimated 5.00pm arrival time back in Townsville.
